Why Q5 over BMW X3
#71
BUT, the X3 with the 35i engine, sport seats, and sport transmission is a way better drivers car than the Q with either engine. I was so impressed in comparison to the Q. I can't bring myself to spend the 50k+ to get it, and will probably end up with the Q, but that combination in the X beats the Q hands down.

BMW dropped the six-speed manual option from the recent X3, and Audi never offered one in their SUVs. The traditional, three-pedal manual is the primary reason I chose a 2006 BMW X3 over any Audi offering.
I have a 2006 X3 3.0i m-sport, premium, manual, xenons, etc. With a manual transmission and the sports package, my X3 handles as close to a sports car as any SUV can be.
No, it's not the prettiest thing out there, but that's not the point. It gets me to my favorite trailheads in the Pacific Northwest, and yet makes those freeway on-ramps really fun. The in-line six cylinder, while only making 220 horsepower, is really fun to rev too!
