Default Window Tinting

Hi!

Last week i bought 2012 Q5 in Ibis white. I am wanting to get window tint done on the auto.

I am wondering is it safe to tint the sunroof ?

Thanks!

Safe enough, as my dealer would do it no problem. But, at least for me, not really necessary. So far we only use the shade except for parking.

I used to live in University Park, and while your summer temps are higher than here, for sure you don't get more sun.

I plan on getting mine done. The mesh sunshade doesn't cut it.

i hope its ok to tint the sunroof.. i've called several places and some say its ok and others say it might crack the sunroof due to heat ?

Mine are dealer tinted so I'm sure they wouldn't do that if there was a possibility of cracks in the sunroof. I don't remember signing any liability waivers...

I'm in Phoenix so it doesn't get much hotter than here and the roof is still fine.

We had ours done - no issues thus far in a few 100+ degree temps.

+105F here and we have darkest 5% tint on the roof.

We had 20% earlier but it wasn't enough and interior got way too hot for wife and baby on back seat so back to tint shop to take off the old and install new 5% film.

I have an Ibis and had my front windows and pano tinted. It's the smartest thing I ever did.

What kind of tint did everyone use, and how much did you pay? Everyone happy with the result? Any bubbles?

I'm not sure how I feel about tinting the moonroof. A lot of what you're paying for is to let that light in... But I am definitely considering tinting the windows to keep the car cooler (meteor grey with black interior).
