Default Tire Chains

Will tire chains fit well on the 18's?
Curious as on the 19" the inside edge of the front tires only have about 1/4" or so clearance from the vertical suspension component (wheel bearing housing) that connects up to the two upper suspension links.
How much room is there with the 18"?

Chains no go on front and manual says only rear.

I found ultra slim cables that might work with after market rims that haves smaller off-set which brings rims a bit out....

Just fitted these alloys and winter tyres. The wheels are Ronal 17x7" with Pirelli Scorpion Snow & Ice 235/65 tyres. I selected the tyres having been very satisfied with the same model on my MB ML350 for the last 6 winters. The alloys are OK, but a little drab after the 20" 7 double-spoke beauties I have for summer wear....

Not bad at all, but in any case, safety before looks!

I'm positive they are 18" and the mags look exactly like the ones posted on here. As someone posted I bought those tires from Costco which was a great deal IMO and they installed them etc cause they were bought there and they have an excellent warranty.

The rims were bought from a place not far from here (Terrebonne) we had a choice of different set ups but chose the one like above. I have the bills etc if you want exact prices.

When we bought the Q5 we asked about the tires and they quoted us 17" on mags for about 2400 or 2500, so hubby went out and tried to find a better deal

They are definitely 18" Michelins ( believe they mention them in another post) Price for 4 was $971.96, front and back mats (Michelins as well) free, they have a super warranty on them as well from Costco and when it came to putting them on, I just drove up and they did it

Total taxes in: 1,055.41

Rims: From (Auto Parts Plus) Terrebonne
18" mags $659.80 + $45.00 for the bolts

total taxes in : $795.54

My husband was very impressed with Auto Parts Plus, they gave great service!

So everything in was: $1,850.95

and we've had some major snowfalls, last week was a record breaker and I'll tell you that my Q5 just plowed through everything, it was amazing in the snow, didn't fish tail, didn't run any stops, I have never had that kind of control in the winter! Very happy with our choices all around

Oh I'm not sure how to post pics, that is why there isn't any up.
