Default wiper fluid level light on

my wiper fluid light will not go out even tho the tank is full. the audi service rep says some wiper fluids will cause a film over the sensor lens, thus the problem. this sound a little unusual to me, of course a new sensor is the suggested fix. anyone else run into this problem? thanks

In the past certain fluid brands were causing this issue. Do a google search on the subject. I belirve there was a fix using an isopropyl alcohol flush.

Agreed, I would look into just cleaning the film off. Of course they recommended a replacement. did they suggest a new fluid too? I would also recommend using isoporpyl too. What fluid were you using? I have never heard of a film forming and causing an issue.

I was a big problem with Rain-X, etc. a few years ago.

Just out of curiosity did they quote you a price to replace it for a new one?
