Hey all,

Just picked up a 2018 B9 S-Line that has lane assist. The grille has a front mount camera dead centre. Has anyone swapped that grille out for an all black version or wrapped it?

I'm dicey on going aftermarket considering the camera and most likely recalibration needing to be done vs. a gloss black wrap to the grille. Did a quick search, so it's possible I missed a previous discussion on this...thanks!

I swapped out our SQ5 one for the China one. Fit and finish was great. Quality was amazing. The camera didn't mount perfectly (had to mount it back a bit with some messing around).

There is no need to calibrate that camera. It's purely a fluff device for parking and 360 view. Nothing safety uses it.

Questions:

• Was the SQ5 (Chinese import) grille going on an SQ5 or just a Q5?
• Was there any modification in getting the replacement grille back in?

It was going into a SQ5, but I'm 99.9% sure there is no difference for a Q5. No modifications were needed; it was a perfect drop in off of Alibaba (just the front camera required a bit of messing around. Now, keep in mind I did this 2-3 years ago when the Q5 B9 was new, so the newer grills may have the front view camera mount fixed.
