Hey Guys,

anyone replaced their cabin air filters lately, any recommendations?

Do a search in: Q5/SQ5 MKII Discussion, there are a few posts on this that show you how to do it. I think it is behind the glove box, but that might be a different car.

I replaced mine with this item:
Amazon Amazon

And I'm glad I did it myself because the one that was in there was installed backwards. But it fit perfectly - quality part and instructions were included. Job was pretty straightforward with no tools necessary. I also have a 2018 SQ5.
I got the correct part info by logging on to the Mann website where it's listed as the correct replacement - even if Amazon doesn't have the info.

be sure to do stretching exercises before you attempt to change the cabin filter. It requires a contortionist : )

There are many good replacements. I use charcoal filters because they do a better job of absorbing odors - We have a dog with us most of the time.

I used Hengst 4M0819439B with carbon filter and biocide. I think it is the OEM part.

While not especially difficult it is the biggest PITA to change of any car I've had in the last 20 years. As with a lot of things on these cars it seems common sense is not within the skill set of the designers. I guess a lot of owners don't do any of their maintenance but making it more difficult just results in higher bills at the dealer which may be the design criteria..
