Default Active Lane assist enabled on my 2019 SQ5 Premium

Ordered a Ross-Tech VCDS Hex-V2 enthusiast unit last week. Installed it on my Dell Vostro W10 Pro laptop and spent some quality time with my 2019 SQ5 Premium this afternoon. VCDS is picky but not too difficult. This is the first time I have ever used VCDS or any automotive code device.

The attached instructions I found here at AudiWorld worked perfectly except that in my SQ5 there was no Bit 7 under:

44 - Steering Assistance
Heading Control Assistant>Active | Byte 2>Bit 7

Mine showed:

44 - Steering Assistance
Heading Control Assistant>Active | Byte 2>Bit 0

I set bit 0 to active.

Voila! Active Lane Assist.

Thanks Audi World and the original source of this.

How do you activate or deactivate the Lane assist?

So let me fully understand this, I will be getting a 2018 Q5 Premium Plus with Navigation and if I get Ross-Tech VCDS Hex-V2 and I program the vehicle, I can enable active lane assist without any additional hardware?
Thanks in advance!

Are there any other drawbacks I'm not realizing such as warranty void or something like that? Does it activate/deactivate through the display as normal or did you mean it has to be done by code each time?

No experience here...thanks.

Yes. I did it to my 2019 Premium

It stays on alll the time, unless you disble it in VCDS or get a different turnsignal switch with the ALA on off button. I just leave mine on all the time.

Don't think it will void the warranty from what others here have said. It was my first VCDS project.

Is there anyone here in Florida that can help me turning on the Active Lane Assist? I am not a tech guy and VCD/coding etc feels intimidating to me. Will greatly appreciate a fellow members HELP in this matter.

Just be advised, its ON all the time if you enable. Meaning, since you dont have the turn stalk w/ switch, when you take some roads its going to go off like crazy.

Cant really code while driving... yet
