Cost: total 28$ Tools needed: small flat had screwdriver Total Time: 10min
Step 1) Park on level service (if you have S Sport package place the car in the off-rode this will give you more room to work with under the door panel)
Step 2) Open the first door all the way and lay on the floor to find the current puddle lights
Step 3) using the small screw driver pry the light out by placing the tip on the far side edge of the light
Step 4) unplug the light
Step 5) using the jumper harness plug it in to the current harness and the new light. Polarity is compensated by electronics so any wire can be placed in and terminal
Step 6) Verify the light is projecting and image is in the correct direction (not upside down) if image upside down place the unit in the other side of the vehicle as lights are L or R but are not marked
Step 7) place the light in to the door panel by placing the connector end first then pressing the opposite end in.
Thanks for the writeup and link. Can't believe Audi charges $200 for a pair of these .. just wow!
200$ is little steep i agree. I'm not sure how long they will work so maybe if they fail in a week the 200$ would look more reasonable.
What i think is a steal is the Audi connect, or the sunshade they sell. people wonder why there new car lost 20k in 1 year and thats because they paid 3k in options like Audi rings, paint protection, trunk privacy screen, and other stuff.
