Awesome--I had the official version on my recent loaner and thought they were kind of cool but stupid for $200, but $14 and 10 minutes I can live with. Too bad Amazon doesn't sell Audi Connect renewals.

My q5 prestige came with the ‘quatro’ front door puddle lights. Not sure what Audi was thinking when it decided ’quatro’ would make a good puddle light word.

Anyways, my dealer was super cool and swapped out the quatro lights for the OEM audi rings....this after he had already made plenty of profit off me installing tint on 2 front windows ($150) plus another $300 in labor just to R&R the 7 small interior dash/door trims pieces (the old high gloss grey oak trim pieces soon to become Ebay fodder).

Actually, I had already ordered the cheaper ebay aftermarket rings prior to this. I got those in today and installed them on the rear doors. LOL, I didn’t even know the rear doors had any door lighting until I saw a pic of all 4 doors opened and showing the puddle lights...until then, was considering selling both my aftermarket rings and quatro beams on ebay. Not sure if there is any market for my two ‘quatro’ puddle lites.

Comparing the two, the aftermarket lites have larger rings (and the small lettered ‘Audi’), but probably due to projecting a larger ring image, the rings are not nearly as bright as the OEM rings. Both will pretty much have the same WOW factor when its dark... but the OEM’s do really stand out even in indirect (shaded) sunlight whereas the aftermarket lights appear dull and washed out.

But no question....it’s absoultely insane how much Audi charges for the OEM puddle lites.

Just an FYI, but the cheaper ones on Amazon are different quality than OEM. For grins I grabbed a pair to test against the OEM. The OEM is crisp & bright and tight. The knock offs a bit blurry and 2x the size...

I will still keep them installed in the back row, kids prolly never notice!

For ref, OEM up front in pic. I also didnt use the red/black leads that came with them. I just plugged it into the harness direct.

I just installed some tonight on the Q5 & Q3. I am more than pleased with the performance vs. price.
