Default Audi connect locating car

Supposedly Audi connect will locate your car when you park it. Is there anything I need to do to enable that? Every time I park it and then I go into the Audi connect app and click on the car icon, it shows it at home instead of where it actually is. Thanks.

I have the same issue for past 2 months. Audi support recommended to reset MMI, but it does not help.
However, I was recently on the trip and, viola, myAudi app displayed my car in airport parking where I parked it a day before.
But the issue is still there when I returned from the trip and use car daily for short rides.

Yes, real glad I paid for Audi connect. Is there anything you have to do with the app when you park your car or should it work automatically? Thanks

I think vehicle location is actually included in the free basic Audi connect service. So you can experience the joy of the failing app for free!

well there you go, I could have saved all that money. I actually found somewhere that if you click on the map within Audi connect and then click on the search bar on top, it should find your car then. Going to try it tomorrow since right now it'll say it's in my garage where it said it's been for the last 5 months !

The Audi web page, web app, and phone app are very lacking. I think they are back in the 1990's with their online tech. And it does not work a lot of times. I have the BMW one and had the Acura one and they were so much better and never any issues ore outages.

What Ribeye said. What I find AWESOME (insert sarcasm there) about locating your car with Audi Connect is it only does it if the car is stationary. Soooo... if someone steals your car, wife is out driving and wondering if she is close to the beer store for a pickup, etc, you are out of luck.

I did some research and I have an evidence that the myAudi app has regression issue in latest version. The vehicle reports it's position to myAudi cloud correctly, but the app does not request position and uses last known position for some amount of time.

It's simple to reproduce this issue (at least on Android):
  1. Check vehicle position in myAudi app before you start driving
  2. Drive your car to the destination
  3. Open myAudi app and check the vehicle position when you arrive to the destination. If it still display your source position - see next steps.
  4. Close the application and then force it to stop using your system (in Android 10+ - System -> myAudi -> Force stop; optional - Storage -> Clear Cache).
  5. Start myAudi app again and check the current vehicle position.
I'm planning to report this issue to Audi support

All of the above assumes you can get the MyAudi app to work sufficiently to see any vehicle position. There is something seriously wrong with version 4.6.0 that was updated in early December.

Agreed with Yosh01. I had to open/close it 3 times while trying to located my vehicle. It is definitely subpar right now.
