Default Hot and Cold Seats

I thought it was interesting that those of us with the cold and warm weather packages are able to turn on both the heating and cooling functions at the same time. It's like some worlds are colliding. I tried it for a couple minutes and appeared as if the cooling was winning the temperature battle, but I didn't test for very long in fear of something exploding. Seems like the ability to do this was an oversight by Audi.

There's not really much point to this thread other than to point out that I noticed that this was possible and that it seemed silly. Happy Friday.

They're ventilated seats, not "cooled" seats, which explains how the functions can coexist--while heating part actually provides heat, the "cooling" function only circulates cabin air through the seat. If the cabin is cool, they provide cooling--if it's warm and you have the seat heaters on also, you get a doubly warmed tush.

It sounds stupid, but on long drives, having both on keeps your back feeling great.

My SQ5 came with heated seat which is completely useless in our climate. Ventilated would be much more practical

I wonder if it is easy to retrofit vented seats.

why didn’t you just spec out your car so you had ventilated seats without heat??

Cars are so bloody expensive there, the least they can do is let you have them the way you want them.

They do , but you have to wait for it to be built - 6 to 7 months. Not everyone wants to wait that long.
