Has anyone seen a similar pattern before? The sunroof drain was cleaned out recently and all seemed fine. This is by the front passenger side door after heavy rain.
I thought I saw threads about the roof drains plugging or something like that? I don't know where that runs to though....
The front two you'll have to open the driver/passenger doors to see where they drain.
The rears you'll need to partially remove the fender liner in order to see the drain, it's toward the rear/trunk and much easier to clean during wheel rotation/swaps with the wheel off.
It could be the roof drain plug, I’d hope not given it was cleaned less than a year ago and it’s rarely if ever parked under trees. The windshield has not been replaced.
I’ll test it with a hose soon to see if there is anything I discover watching in real time.
Could also be the AC condensate drain is plugged or otherwise not working correctly, and instead of draining out, water builds up inside the car and dumps on the floor when you make a turn. I had that issue in a car when I was a youngster. I lived with it for years until someone told me about the condensate drain.
The water placement doesn't make sense to me for the A/C line being plugged, our A/C drain line wrap around the center front console, and not anywhere near where the water is pictured above.
Even if the drains were "cleaned", there are ususally bug traps at the line ends, aka 1 way plastic valves. A fishing line drain clean won't clean these. They are usually accessibe from under the fender liners... Some models might be different though. I just remove them if they are there, but pros and cons to doing this.
Usually see the leaks when cars are parked outside and under/near trees for a while.
