No beep from trunk

No beep from trunk

hi all,

when you press the lock button on the trunk on either the q5 or sq5 do any of you get a beep?

I do do not every time I press the lock button on the trunk. However I do get the light flash.

I don’t... i guess as it a button not a touch sensor or remote they don’t think they need to perform a vocal conformation

thanks kadetime for confirming you don’t get it as well.

I tried it it on my brothers q7 and he got it though weird

I’ve never had mine not beep when I hit the lock button on the hatch unless a window or door is open

weird, my windows and doors must be closed, since when I lock my doors by pressing the sensor it beeps, weird!

Mine will only beep if I initiate a close of the boot lid via the keyfob.

I'm guessing Audi wants people around the rear of the vehicle to be aware that it's closing as you can be away from the car when hitting the keyfob. When hitting the button on the lid itself it never will beep.

That’s normal operation - I believe the beep we’re talking about is the beep upon locking, not the lid closing beep

Truck lock works intermittently

Not only does it work intermittently with no beeps, but came down on my head pinning me to the bottom of the trunk. I had to squeeze sideways to get my head out. It then slammed shut and locked. This is such a safety hazard. I could have been killed or be a paraplegic. No sensors no sound no anything! I had a horrible concussion and have had neck pain since.
