Default Is this normal for cup holder?

As you can see, I just noticed my Q5 is missing black liner in passenger side cup holder. Is this normal? Mine has heating and cooling function for cup holder. Does this have anything to do with this like driver's side has liner because cooling lamp lights up on that side and passenger side missing liner because it has heating light lights up when button is pressed or is heating and cooling function applies to both side and mine is just missing black liner for one of cup holder?

Normal. If the heat/cool side had the rubber liner, it would insulate against the heating/cooling elements. So that side is “bare”

So heating and cooling only works on bare side not both?

I have the same setup and only the "passenger's side" holder is heated/cooled.

That would be the passenger's side only, the bare side. Driver's side has no temperature control.

Same here. Only my passenger side is heated/cooled. I forget about this so often and honestly just don’t use it that much.

Default Useless cup holders

Has anyone figured out a way to make these cupholders more useful? They buried deep in the console and relatively small too. Most cups dont fit and alot of them that do are short the lid gets popped off on the trim above. It's infuriating. I tried a couple of these cup things but even they wont fit down in that pit of a cup holder without being stopped by the trim. Doesnt fit:. Swigzy Car Cup Holder Expander Adapter (Adjustable)

If you think the first row cups holders are unusable, wait till you try to use the cup holders on the second row. I'm not sure what even fits in these cup holders except for 7.5oz coke cans.

Any ideas on making the second row cup holders useable?
Thanks!
