Default Plastic pieces behind license plate mount?

I just got a 2018 SQ5 last week and took off the front license plate holder so that I could run my car without it bc I wanted to enjoy he look. After I took the holder off there are two large gaps where the plate holder would screw into. Asked the dealer but they said the cars don't come with the plastic pieces to cover it and that it'll cost $74+tax for two plastic pieces!?!?!? See photo.

As you can see there's about 10" from left to right and I need two of those pieces to fill in the gap to math the silver plastic piece of the grill. This is my car with the front plate mount removed.
I want it to look like stock photos from the brochures. This is a googled photo not my car.

Anyone know the part number? There must be some knock offs (eventually) or somewhere I can get OEM for less... 🙏🏼

Thanks!!! Do you know if with the link on the other thread do I have to buy two pieces or one? If it's $55 the two pieces is $110 which the dealer quoted me but he said his parts dept could do $74+tax.... but for plastic trim filler really?!?

thanks!

This isn't included with the Car by default when you delete the front license plate holder? That just doesn't sound right at all!

Welcome to German ownership...
I had to buy an entire grill to NOT have to have the USDM plate area (FL, no front plate).
One time cost...then it'll look right at least.

Have to agree. When the first thing I do after delivery day is spend another $75 for a couple of $1 plastic trim strips to make it look right, it just doesn't sit well. Indiana doesn't require or provide front plates.

If you specify "front license plate delete" on the initial order, it will come with the filler strips.
Be glad you don't have to buy them for a 4M Q7 - $$$$$$$ .
On the other hand, the two strips for the B9 A4 are only about $25.

Dang... I thought doing a front license plate delete would come with a different grill, so I went with the license plate thinking I can do a filler plate if needed

Just got a Q5 Premium and we’re also going to remove the front license plate holder. I’ve been told you need two of the part number 80A-853-441-D-3Q7. I believe it’s the same for the SQ5. So unfortunately it’s going to cost more like 125 dollars, not just 75.
