Nice. Local 332 here. Turned out in 2017.
I know you guys have a vacation fund off the check and get more on your benefits card, but it's fairly close as the total package is concerned.
Applying and getting in the apprenticeship was definitely the best decision and chance I've had in life, looking forward to retiring comfortably one day.
Good to meet you.

Our current is 104+ I did a smaller job across from the Jail. Invest outside of the Union. It is a good job but Save and Roth IRA too..

Great setup.

Did you waterproof the charger? I am thinking of putting it outside as a permanent fixture, but I am concerned about the rain/snow on upstate NY.

Thanks

I found some wall brackets from a seller on eBay for about $40 (the Audi wall contraption is a fortune), and used hanger bolts and wingnuts to make it easily removeable. Installed inside in garage, I wouldn't leave that charger out in upstate NYS weather:

For protection I'd get some canvas/dropcloth/plastic tarp and fabricate a small 18x24 flap just to keep the rain off. I don't know if those are rated outdoor/wet location use or not. Also, if you can see it from the street too.

Clean setup, was just going to ask if that thing can be in use during heavy rains, guess you could always build a small enclosure around it latter on if you so desired to keep it outside 24/7/365…

The cables form drip loops, and the housing seems well constructed. Does anyone know what ratings it carries? I forgot to take a photo of the back of the unit, but it is marked as NEMA 3R rated. This should mean it’s protected against water ingress from rain, snow and ice formation.

Yes, NEMA 3R is the weatherproofing rating of it. It isn't "watertight" though. Additional protection should be used if subject to heavy rainstorms with or without wind. Additionally if its baking in the Sun, electronics don't like that either.

I’ll see how it goes. It’s mostly shaded and somewhat protected by overhead eaves. I do wish Audi provided clearer instructions for the EVSE, along with some basic mounting hardware. Ultimately if this one bites the dust there are many other EVSE equipment options we can choose from.

It sounds like with that cover, out of direct sunshine and overhead eves protection you should be fine!
