Default Replacing Fake Exhaust Tips

On a '23 Q5, has anyone replaced the fake exhaust tips with real one's that are actually connected to the hidden downpipes? Kinda bothers me that it's done this way by Audi but sort of understand that doing so provides a cleaner look.

Anyway, did some searching and this is all I found with not much info about the product or a detailed process. https://youtube.com/shorts/Vm2gkMWfdpg

Unless you plan on welding new piping to the factory exhaust or getting an aftermarket exhaust, there's nothing there to put tips on, even if you sawed out the fakery. As you see in the video.

They didn't do it for a cleaner look. That they bothered to put fake looking tips on the SQ5 shows that. They did it for cost cutting, the only reason they do anything these days.

What's the deal with the tips in 2021? It appears they changed to real quad exhaust at some point because our 2021 SQ5 definitely doesn't have this fake garbage. I honestly wouldn't have even bought the car if I saw fake tips with a downpipe behind it.

My 2021 has fake tips. I assumed they were real when I bought the car, but they're not. Maybe they changed mid-year and I got a later year build.

Not long after my car was built, they also removed the hood insulation. At this rate, in a year or two an Audi will turn into a Yugo.

The bumper change would be at facelift. For the Q5, that was MY21. So >MY20 SQ5 should have real exhaust tips, MY21> SQ5 should have fake exhaust tips. But appears there was a $1350 sport exhaust tips port installed accessory option (code SPE), which appears to be 80A 071 904.

MY21 SQ5: youtu.be/M5mJXUzhnk0?t=183
MY21 SQ5 with SPE: youtu.be/-QeVl8ZMwpA?t=64

That's it. I have the "Sport Exhaust Tips" option on my Window Sticker. To have something we should all get for an expensive "performance" vehicle I paid an extra $1,350 for on a car that was $70,865 MSRP. Jeezus.

It probably wouldn't cost very much at all if real exhausts were still standard equipment. But retrofitting involves a lot of work and expense.

That's not all they left off, check your rear doors lock button, they are blanks now before it had a button with a light. Driver's door use to have a security light (little red light) on the top of the door card....gone. Home link buttons gone, now its on the touch screen and its annoying af.

Duuuuude, I can't STAND the garage door buttons on the touchscreen. I don't even use them, I went back oldschool and put the clicker on the visor. That's almost as bad as fake exhaust.
