Default SQ5 carbon fiber vs aluminum trim?

I will probably be puttting an order in on a SQ5 this week and I’m wondering if you guys have any comments on these trim pieces. Most of these on the lot comes in CF but I actually like the look of the aluminum better. Is one more prone to scratches or harder to clean than the other?

After initially being on the fence about the carbon fiber trim and now having owned it for 3+ months, I would definitely recommend it. It's one of the first things that passengers notice when they get in my car. It just makes the interior feel more sport oriented. And it simply looks nice when you see it in person.

I haven't had any problems with scratches or anything.

We stuck with the aluminum - everything being black and solid silver just looked cleaner to me.

Somehow the other part of my post disappeared. I also stated that I'm also interested to hear how the aluminum holds up. Our car was scheduled to start its build yesterday.

Best to go sit in SQ5s with each. To me, the aluminum trim looks cheap and makes the cabin feel "entry level". The carbon inlays look both "sportier" (i.e., more inline with the S badge) while also making the interior feel richer and more upscale.

I thought I wanted the aluminum until I saw the carbon fiber. I'm used to CF look in '14 SQ5 and BMWs so was going to try something different but it looked really good and I have no regrets going with it over black nappa interior. I've seen beat up aluminum interiors before but haven't personally had it. Either option is good but I feel like the CF is more elegant and special.

FWIW - I had a clear film put over my CF in case something were to happen to it. Looks great and doesn’t look like a cheap faux-CF.
