On my '18 SQ5 I averaged around 19mpg around town. On long drives I think the best I got was 28mpg. On my new '23 SQ5 my around town seems to be running closer to 20.5mpg and the only long trip we have taken it on we got around 27mpg.

One factor that I've noticed can really impact it with this car is wind. We drive LA to Vegas about once a quarter over the same route so I have a lot of consistent trips to compare. I've noticed that a decent head wind can drop it from around 27mpg down to 24mpg easily on long stretches. I've even noticed that a tail wind can perceptibly increase the efficiency.

Personally I drive my 2022 SQ5 for the car not the milage, if you want to identify as a Prius you might have the wrong car.

If only the road between work and home was a racetrack (both ways).

You might also have the wrong forum. Go hang out on Audizine where it's standard practice to judge each other if they don't match the fixation on being macho.

I experience efficiency in the realm of beauty, which is one of the reasons I own the SQ5.

Was that necessary?

Fair enough.I get protective of this space and appreciate that generally people can share their thoughts, whatever they may be, without judgment of our choices, worries, driving style, interests, passions, etc.
Maybe I had it all wrong and am super sensitive, but when I read, "if you want to identify as a Prius you might have the wrong car.", it reminded me of childhood bullying. I see and have received those kinds of responses on AZ - what I judge as bravado. I suppose my retort could be seen in the same snarky vein, but for me, I really was saying, "please keep this space safe. Thanks for questioning my response.

Engineers like numbers and performance statistics, whether they're driving a Prius or a Ferrari.

It was a harmless joke, he wasn’t trying to make a social statement.

FWIW, drove from Rochester, NY to Hartford, CT last weekend on I90 majority of the way with cruise set at 75 to 77 mph, short term MPG according to dash display was in range of 26.4mpg which I was pleased with.

A reasonable amount of elevation change and at one point in MA before getting off the head south on I91 you hit the highest elevation on I90 east since Ocoma, SD (1,724 ft)

The SQ5 does not struggle maintain highway speed and stays in D8 the whole way up.
