I have 21's too and I upsized to 265's, but I don't think they are noisy at all either.

I have these on my X5 - GREAT tire. Rode good, and quiet and decent in the snow. I have over 73,000 on them. They are due, but you can still see tread all the way across still. Got my $ worth out of those. I would have got them again if they made them in 21's my size.

My only data point was the super soft Pirelli P-Zeros that got replaced. In comparison, the CCII's have a lot more road noise. Could just be that was the price to pay for super soft / fast wearing Pirelli's though. When the rubber vaporizes when driving, it doesn't have enough time to make a sound.

I'm willing to sacrifice road noise for a lot better tread life!

As a comparison, my other car had Pirelli Sorrento II winters. I just swapped them last fall, with Sorrento 3's, and the 3's were 10x more quiet. Oddly quiet for a winter tire since those tend to have blocky tread that makes noise.
