Default 06/07 Q7 3.6 Engine Replacement Owners

Hello Everyone,

I know we have covered this topic a few times I think we are all aware of the engine issues certain earlier 06/07 Q7's had resorting to engine swaps for many.

My concern is, I am on my second engine and the same "cold start" diesel, clunky starts are still present. These were earlier signs of serious problems down the road the resulted to my engine replacement at ~16K.

I brought this up to my dealership and they assured me backed by a TSB 201294/5 that this is "normal." Vehicle runs well, I will say this!

Are your vehicles still making the same noises? I know there has been a few reportings on "cold start" noises gone on 2nd/remanufactured engines and how are you Q7 performing?

Thanks for your reply!

I'll keep everyone here posted. Also, anyone with a vehicle buy back please post. As I came accross an individual last night that went through this.

Again, as I mentioned my Q7 is running great so far, it's the cold starts that are worring me...

My 4.2 in my 07 was replaced at 33,000 kms. Coolant leak into engine. Suspected cracked block.
