OK thanks are these ballasts wired directly to the battery terminals?

No, just plugs right into stock harness in bumper where original signal/parking lights are. Easy plug n play.

Looks good! Did you swap out any other suspension components other than the lowering links to drop the car? For the spacers that you chose to go with the OEM 21" peelers- do they come out to the edge of the normal fenders or the plastic extended S-line fender trim? (I'm trying to figure out what sized spacers to use to push my wheels out to my fenders which do not have that extra S-line coverage width.

Post a YouTube video of your blinkers in action. I hope that they are sealed well so they don't have internal water condensation or spots like some Audi headlamps get.

just links, no other suspension components needed. 18mm F 30mm R spacers push wheels almost flush to S-line fender trim, still little bit more room. would prob go with 23mm F 35mm R if I did it again... but what I really need are 12" wide rears!

will post YouTube clip when I get a chance, raining next couple days in SoCal...

here's some close-up shots of the spacers so you can get a sense of size:

Your car looks amazing, just the way I'd like mine to be when I'm finished with it. Next on my list is the callipers painted and then hopefully the 2010> DRL's but I'd like some advice from you

I'm not sure the layout of the indicators on US models as it looks like your front indicator is part of the headlight? Here in the UK we have the indicator down below along with a side light where the new models have the DRL/indicators

This is a mod I really want to do with my 2007 Q7 S line but I read that the new DRL/indicator units are longer and the bumper needs to be modified and because they are LED they have to be wired to the mirror indicators as they are LED too. I know you said they are plug and play but was it really that simple, just pop out your old ones and plug these in? I'd want to wire them so that the DRL's came on when pulling away so is the adapter just bare wires that you join to whatever you want them to be powered from or is it a plug to the DRL in the headlight?

these are not OEM but designed specifically for pre-facelifted Q7's. From my research, and I might be wrong, the OEM EU V12 DRL bumper lights do not have a signal function and the 2010+ LED bumper signal lights do not have DRL function so this aftermarket option is the best of both worlds at a fraction of the cost. Lights come with separate ballasts which plug directly into factory harnesses (1 for parking bulb, 1 for signal bulb) where old bumper lights go. Perfect fit for 07-09 S-line bumper with no modification needed. GOOD PRODUCT.

check post #9 for details on how bumper lights function...

I wonder if these are plug and play for my 2012 Q7 so that instead of having my current amber LED blinkers only, I could have the white DRL light strip AND the amber turn blinkers...

I don't think that the 2007 turn blinker housings are the same size as the 2012 turn blinker housings or else more 1st gen Q7 owners would've went that route instead of the V12's LED turn signals.
