Default 08 Q7 WET CARPET- help

Its been raining in NY these last few days & I noticed my driver side carpet was WET (soaked) not from the Sunroof or leaving the windows open. It was one particular spot. Has Anyone had this issue??

Leaks in the Q7 are usually from the sunroof drain. It tends to get clogged up with debris like leaves and pollen or other junk. There is a regular maintenance on these cars to clean that out. However, when it backs up it typically shows up in the footwell in front of the passenger under the glove box. There are a bunch of threads on here about this, and what you can do to prevent it. I'm not sure if it could somehow get across to the driver side tho.

is there a diy for cleaning them out? or just get a spedometer cable and open the roof, find the drain and poke?

Clogged sunroof drain is your problem. It can occur on both sides (passenger, driver). I had a lot more water on the passenger side of my '09, but also light dripping on driver side after heavy rain.

Dealership replaced the drainage tubes with the "'10 and up fatter tubes" according my my rep. Luckily haven't had an issue since.

the 10+ have bigger tubes but if they are not installed properly get pinched by the airbags or the pillar covers. installation is key. no way to tell until after the fact.

Is the clogged sunroof drain an issue on all model year Q7's?
I have a 2011.
TIA!

@misscole75 I have had the same problem on my 2008. Everyone says their are lots of threads on this issue and pics to show DIY. I haven't found anything. I looked on the spreadsheet and I can't figure that out either. Have you had any luck?

Same here. Should I expect it as an issue on 2013?
