Default Gary @ Tirerack suggested the Goodyear Fortera SL

He said that the Michelin Latitudes are better but they cost nearly triple. The Goodyears are only $120 ea.

Default I looked at the Michelins Latitude Tour HP tires also but.....

I found out that when my tire guy called Michelin the rep said they where not making the tire any longer so I voted against that. Im not sure if it was just my size but worth checking into if you do go that route.

Default Re: Michelin Latitude Tour HP 20"

I spent ~$1500 for my set so it is a bargain to spend ~$500 for a set of the Goodyear Fortrera SL 20" tires. If you go this route, it will be good to share your experience with the forum.

Default I like Justforfun's suggestion to run Pirelli snows year-round but how many miles

how many miles have people been getting out of them? I would expect that they would wear fast.

The load on those are 106, not 110--playing with fire

Default My understanding (from Gary) is that 106 is still a sufficient load rating for the vehicle itself...

...but my concern with it was if you load the vehicle down then you might be pushing the limits of the tire. So I ended up getting tires with the XL/110 rating just to be on the safe side (Yokohama Parada Spec-X for spring/summer/fall and Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow for winter). Check out the price on the Yokohamas, they are also inexpensive, just slighty more than the Fortera SL.

https://forums.audiworld.com/wheel/msgs/94568.phtml</a

I wonder why they stopped selling the 18" but still sell the 20"? Lower price of the competition?

Default I dumped the OEM tires when I got my Q

...and installed Bridgestone Dueler Alenzas (20"). I run these year-round in New England, and they have been outstanding. Although I don't spend all winter in the north anymore, the tires have been competent in snow, ice and slush (not as good as dedicated snows, but not bad).

The tires are great in dry conditions, ride/handle very well and are quiet.

I've got 20,000 miles on them and have plenty of tread left.
