My point exactly... I still can't find any evidence anywhere, including the official Q7 workshop service manual, that states that these items are, or need to be painted before installation.

Let's have those pics of the finished job... interested to see the colour they've painted them.

at least they are fixing them up as I still have only seen those painted as aftermarket as the grey underneath could have been the primer (in this case the wrong kind since it peeled)

sorry, i had technical problems showing the pics on this site. as you can see they are black now.

a few months ago when only one wheel was peeling, they tried ordering the part several times to replace it. one of the times i went in and saw a slightly lighter gray piece and a black piece, neither matched my color trim. the service person said that they all have to be painted, but it looked like the ones i saw came from the factory and didn't appear to need paint so i am not really sure what the truth is. i have black now and since it didn't cost $2400 i am going to remain quiet. you can see in one of the photos the small nick in the trim when they must have pulled it up... not happy about this, but it looks better then the peeling!

gluv,

Really looks nice!! The nick must be really small as I dont see it in the pics. Really like the matching paint on the bottom skirts and the wheels too. Post some pics of the entire vehicle when you get a chance.

Happy to hear a decent outcome!

That's more like what a 60K vehicle should look like. Glad you got the matter resolved.
