Does anyone know if you would you be able to replace the existing lights with the 2010 model lights by just plugging and screwing it in?

I emailed the same question to my local ABS and he indicated that he didn't think it would be possible. It seemed to be purely speculation on his part, but given that he didn't come out and say absolutely not, I like to think that gives a little hope still.
