Default 2011 TDI Q7 Brake Pads & Rotors

So at 36k miles the sensor has finally tripped to replace the brake pads. I’m a little confused as to what pad to replace the factory Audi set with? There seem to be several options but no consensus on what would be the best bang for the buck replacements.

So far I’ve found the Brembo front pads with sensors here of a good price.http://www.partsgeek.com/gbproducts/...FdFffgod4FgAlw

The rotors have some slight wear and a tiny lip. My thoughts were to run a set of replacement pads knowing the set of pads may burn up a little faster and I will have to replace the pads and rotors next time.

Is there a package deal out there by a vendor or ebay that is preferred? Is there an aftermarket rotor that any of you have been happy with?

Any help or advice is much appreciated. I’m advanced as far as mechanical skill level and am looking forward to getting this job done ASAP but want to make sure I have all the right parts.

Thanks in advance!

We'd need your vin to double check but I believe you have the 350mm rotors. If so here are the prices for OE Audi front brake parts.
rotors 118.48 each
pads 145.08 for the set (both front wheels)
wear sensors 19.55 each, one used per wheel
caliper bolts 3.22 each, 4 used and recommended for replacement when the caliper comes off to replace the rotors should you go that route.

Plus shipping which might be in the 45-65 dollar range depending on your location. Any questions please ask us. Thank you, Jeff.

Thanks for the quote. I'm curious as to why I would need to replace the caliper bolts. Are they one time use only?

Is there any preference on aftermarket rotors?

Thanks!

LOL! So I replaced the rotors and pads. I was able to get the Lisle 9 Piece Triple Square Bit Set to get the rear caliper bolts off. What a pain in the ****.

I bought the rotors, pads and sensors from Kevin at R1 Concepts in OC CA. I went with the premium replacement rotors and Hawk pads. After a good bedding we’re happy with them. The Hawk pads don’t have as much initial bite but they come in strong mid range. It’s like they get some heat in them and they work better. No squeaks and no dust so far.

Thanks Kevin.
