2012 Under-powered sound system?

I have recently switched from a 2007 Q7 to a 2012 Q7. I have the Bose system in my 2012 and spec-wise it appears identical to the 2007. There is a significant difference in max volume levels. In my 2007 Q7 I was rarely able to crank the volume but in my 2012 I often need to and I still find it a little on the quiet side (relatively speaking of course).
Has anyone else experienced this?
Is it possible that my amp isn't working?
Or, is it an MMI setting (note: I have set the input level to max).
Before I ask my dealer to address this I am hopeful that one of you fellow Audi drivers can guide me.
Thanks in advance.

Our 2012 Q7 will blow my eardrums out. It is unquestionably the best sound system ive ever heard in a car. I have had previous bose systems in 2001 A6, 2002 BMW X5, 2006 A6, and our current 2005 A8. In my mind none can touch the Q7. I can turn it up so loud it reaches my tolerance before it even distorts.

I had a 2007 Q7 and the sound system rocked! My 2011 seems to go to about half volume. This was very dissapointing! Is there any adjustments that can be made to allow full volume?

You might want to see if you need an MMI update. I think the latest version ends in 566 (at least for the A7/A6).
Usually to get an update you'll have to have some "problems". I listed freezing camera, random system unresponsiveness, etc. I just took a few things from the K0566 update spec sheet.

thanks tony for the info. Had my Q7 in today for 15k service and described some of the "issues" above and they upgraded my MMI software to that version.
On another note, my sound system seems to be less powerful after the update. I'm having to turn it up much higher than before to get the same volume. (also the phone call sound is different. Looks like they made it so only the speaker by the driver is activated during the call, not both front ones.)
It was working at the same level and then I pushed the mute button on the steering wheel and when I pushed it again to listen to the music, it was at a much lower volume at the same number setting. hmmmm

so I took my Q7 back to the dealer today and had them look at the under-performing sound system. They got it fixed and said they called Audi who said that there have been some issues where the update didn't fully install but told the tech that the update had fully installed. So they re-installed the update again and voila, its back to normal.
MyKidsDad8, I would take it by a dealer and see if they will reinstall the mmi software.
Are you having issues with the Bluetooth phone call only coming through the driver speaker in a horrible monotone? That was an issue with mine as well as being able to turn the iPod (through mmi cable) up all the way and it be slightly louder than normal listening.
