yeh got the part number @Built4Sin ? Looks like an easy enough DIY job.. I might tackle this in a few weeks when I go to change out all my transmission+diff fluid, would not hurt to put a new belt/pull on too.. my Q is basically regulated to Road Trips only and I dunna wanna have to pay stealership shop prices in middle of a vacation, tha'll blow my budget all to hell.

The link for the part is a few posts above; my phone is t allowing me to copy the link.

From there you'll see the bolts on the diagram, you click and add them. It’s pretty easy, but you might need a pin for the crank shaft. I haven’t seen one mentioned anywhere.

🤙

It looks like you tackled it yourself; how much time did it take you to get it fixed? I have a post-TDi fix visit for warranty work with the local Audi dealer scheduled for an emissions error code just 83 miles after the fix was applied (NOx sensor errors) and was told there is a TSB and redesigned pulley being spec'ed and am hoping they'll cover
Did you ever find out what the TSB was and did Audi cover it?

Default Hey guys

After explaining pulley and sepertine belt, did anyone have any further issues. Just bought 2013 tdi q7 and mine corroded off after just 3 months of driving it at about 100 k...it did occur the first time I attempted to use the AC could I be looking at further issue ?

Would love to know if there's a TSB for this. Mine is failing @ 60k now and I'm going DP with 183 XLR8 but if I can get Audi to cover the labor that would be wonderful.

its not a component in the extended emissions warranty.. the front main seal behind it is, but not the pulley wheel.

Not covered by Audi; local VW mechanic installed a genuine Audi part for a total of $508.

I had an odd vibration right before mine failed; I was cruising at highway speed and got an odd vibration when I pressed the accelerator lightly to climb hills (I had 5 people in the Q7 and pulling 4000 lb trailer at the time so I moderately loaded at that time...) I don't think I included the mileage at failure; it was just about 54,000 miles...

Ha, you're not alone. Mine went today; I've had the car for just over a week: 2013 TDI, 108k km. Also attempted to engage the A/C. Luckily it went in the driveway. Not impressed.

I think I will buy a pulley and either put it on a shelf or change it preemptively.
