I have a new Q7 with just over 1K in miles and noticing slight wear on the outer corner lip - front tires?
Tire pressure seems to be fine, I know these summer tire wear out quick and wondering if this was common?
thanks...

I had the same problem with the Dunlops as fitted to my 21" wheels on my 3.0 Tdi S-Line. The wear was very evident on the outer edge and quite a concern to me.
It does appear that Audi have got the tyre pressures for 21" incorrect. Or the Dunlops are of a very soft compound. I was also advised that plenty of town driving and short urban trips will also accelerate front tyre wear.
The Service Department at my Audi Dealership advised running on Dynamic setting for the suspension (If you have Air Suspension that is!) but I was running that setting already so it could not have been the suspension setting causing the problem.
So as the wheel balancing, tracking and suspension settings were all OK and with the tyres still continuing to wear on the outer edge, It became evident that the tyre wear characteristics were typical of tyres that were under inflated, so I raised the tyre pressures to 45 Psi rear - 49 Psi front.(I think the Audi Manual advises 36 Psi). This action would place more wear to the centre tyre face, thus taking the wear from the outer edge of the tyre. I did try this and for approximately 1,000 miles afterwards I did notice a positive difference in tyre wear and fuel consumption. The tyre wear became more evenly applied across the whole tyre width as opposed to just the outer edges.
I hope this helps!!
