3.0T & MPG...
Has anyone here come anywhere close to achieving the advertised mileage? "RANGE IN MILES (CTY/HWY) 422.4/580.8 mi." I generally don't care about MPG however the claims of 422 miles out of tank seem extremely unrealistic when the TDI Touareg is about 475. Last road trip I was just above 300 to a tank but I could not imagine squeezing out another 120+ miles out of it...

I can tell you my 2013 Aussie Q7 3.0TD currently achieves a range of about 1050km (650mi) when on Hwy type driving. Also getting about 920km (570mi) in mixed city/rural driving as well. Car has just over 4,000km on the clock now (2,500mi). Not sure of the tank size in the states but we get 100lts (26gal).

My '07 4.2 has gotten over 400mi on a tank when driven on the freeway. My city mileage is like half of that. Your 3.0T should be a bit better. Having a huge tank helps.

i dont think i broke 200 miles for a with the 4.2L with mixed driving... highway i did much better but city and mixed was horrible. i only use shell93 in all my cars so i dont think has anything to do with the quality or type of fuel.
i am not all that concerned and am scheduled to get the stasis tune soon so mpg really is not my main concern with this suv but just curious how anyone reaches these optimistic claims.

I get 14-15 mpg on a regular tank. That includes whatever I do around town, suburban commutes, errands, whatever. On long trips, I can get 21-22 mpg if I can keep an average speed of 50+. Anything below that and my mpg drops off quickly.
I typically run a tank down to where it takes 24.75 gallons to fill it. So my real-world city range is 350-370 miles. Real-world highway works out to 520-550 miles.
I imagine the quoted range numbers assume use of all 26.4 gallons. In that case, I'd get 370-400 city miles. That would also mean 550-580 highway miles.
Looking at the whole picture, I would agree the quoted city number is a bit high. But the highway number is at least plausible.

g'damn... that is impressive... do you live in a rural area? i dont really use the Q7 for local duty, it is primarily a road trip mobile but i am just curious how all these people are getting these types of MPG.
