Yes, my daily commute is VERY rural. 40 miles each way, of which 35 are spent on a main 2 lane road (55mph speed limit that I may or may not exceed )that only has 2 stop signs along the way. I just set the cruise control and drink my coffee.

came back from a road trip this weekend and from full to 1/6th empty (red dash between 1/4 and E)... i was able to get 345 miles to the tank with mixed & "spirited" driving along with mountain roads (2200ft) along with 80+ temps (at points it was 101 degrees) which is not bad considering the size and weight but definitely not sure how any driver could reach their projected numbers outside of a controlled test environment.

Did a small road trip with my Dad's Q7 3.0T last year. Mostly 60-70MPH stuff mixed with small towns. Out and back 330 miles. 15.0 gal to fill up. So right at the stated 22 MPG mark.

in the Q7 brochure it states 580 highway (422 city) to a tank on 3.0t engine and 739 on tdi engine... i just dont see how that is remotely possible unless you're in a controlled environment or on a straight highway driving with cruise control in optimum weather conditions and over inflated tires but i am sure they have some way of explaining it and i would love to read/hear it. again i really not a gallon gazer and this is only a road trip vehicle but i just find it interesting to see how they came up with those numbers.
