I ordered my Q7 yesterday and was told 4 months. I might have to go help build it myself to get it here earlier. I guess now I have time to sell my 2006 A6 4.2 (will has less then 4200 miles). I am so torn.
Anyway now that my tears are dry this is the final configuration of the vehicle I built:
2007 Q7 4.2 (7 seat configuration) - Daytona Gray w/Black Interior
S Line Sport Package w/21" wheels
Adaptive Air Suspension
Technology Package
Adaptive Cruise Control
Premium Cricket Leather w/valour carpet
4-Zone Climate Control
Heated Front and Rear Seats
Sirius Satellite Radio
Towing Package
Rear Side Airbags
Front Grille Filler Panel
Is there a support group for A6 owners who are having withdrawals?

I called Audi directly and was told that the factory won't accept an order that has 21" wheels until at least March. The only benefit to putting a deposit down now is to lock in the money factor for a lease (which is a good enough reason to put the money down). The deposit will not guarantee price, meaning that if Audi changes the price of the vehicle between now and when your order gets submitted, you will have to pay the new price. The order you placed is going to sit at the dealership if you want 21s. Change it to 20s and you are in good shape. We just went through the same thing, I am waiting for the 21s.

Dear Adam:
Thank you for contacting Audi of America. At present we have no updated
information on when orders can be accepted for the 21-inch wheels. This
decision will be made by the manufacturer and will be communicated as
quickly as possible to all concerned. Please be sure to ask your dealer
to notify you if he receives an updated order guide, and be assured that
we will make any changes as soon as authorized.
Again, thank you for writing and for your interest in the Audi Q7.
