A6 or Q7???

Ok I know this is crazy and its two different cars but I'm stuck.

I like both cars and can't make up my mind which one to buy. I like the Q7 because it's bigger, good for the family and it's different.

Then I like the A6. Little tight in the backseat for three kids please there are so many A6 out there.

This car is for me, not my wife.- I'm coming from a 03 745il bmw. I do not want the A8.

Sometimes I think the Q7 looks like a station wagon or mini van, but it just me??? I do like the Q7 though.

Both cars were fun to drive. The Q7 doesn't feel like an SUV.

Any thoughts?

I didn't want to spend the extra money. Trust me I Love my 745 but i didn't think it was worth the extra cash for what i used it for. The A8 is price about the same as the 750

I was having the same dilema as you. Whether to go with an A6 Avant or Q7. I ended up with the Q7, it is a larger vehicle and will allow for more seating, with the 7-seater option. Also has more cargo volume. I am a car person and I don't like SUVs, but the Q7 is the closest thing to a car in the handling dept. I have driven, for its size. The A6 Avant is a beautiful car. I think it looks better than the sedan (my opinion). But I needed to have a vehicle that had a little more utility (kids and their gear) than the A6 Avant allows. So, I went with the Q7.

But, whatever of the two you choose you will be happy. They are both very nice vehicles.

If you have three kids of any age that have to go in the back seat you need the Q7. Have you thought about the gear or luggage to go along with the five people? If you will have them in the car more than once a week, you owe them all the comfort and safety of the Q7, and get the seven seater.

Yes, you'll use more fuel in the Q7 than the A6 but that doesn't seem to be an issue for you. I love my Q7, I have five kids from age 13 to 21, they are rarely all with me now, but when they are the Q7 can handle them fine, even the third row is fine with the adjustable track on row two. They do love the panorama roof and separate heat/cooling controls. I personnally love the technology and the aggressive front styling.

I agree with you. I drove the A6 avant for a week as a loaner until my Q7 was ready, and I loved it (driving, utility and looks).

I do think the A6 avant is the most beautiful Audi out there.

We have an '06 A6 Avant and just last week I picked up Q7.

A6 ismy wife's....but I cannot keep her out of my Q7.

Simple choice - Q7 wins hands down. And with the A6 being such a fabulous machine...that's one hell of a thumbs up.

Interesting, I also was trying to decide between the A6 Avant and the Q7. I would have preferred the A6 Avant but who would have guessed that I could get into a Q7 cheaper than the Avant. The A6 Avant has a starting base price of over $47K. That price used to buy a fully loaded allroad just last year. I think Audi needs to rethink its pricing on the A6 Avant if wants to move any.

When I purchased my Q7 on Sept. 1st, the dealer had just received nine Q7s. Four over those were already spoken for. Guess how many new A6 Avants the dealer had on his lot. Just one and that same car had been sitting on the lot for over 60 days.

we're still going to consider both, but right now, we favor the q7 more.
