...tied to the frustration in my post.

System fault in Side Assist, requiring new module.

Here's the history:

~ 27 Dec: MMI reports System Fault in Side Assist
29 Dec: Posted here for any insight
08 Jan: Dealer confirmed suspicions, ordered replacement module
12 Feb: Replacement module not yet arrived, dealer is reordering

Here's my frustration level meter:
27 Dec - 08 Jan: Negligible...stuff breaks. Dealer should fix.

08 Jan - 12 Feb: Growing, but hey, I'm all over the US and not home, so still not annoying

12 Feb, 9:30AM, EST: The fact that the part is not here and the parts counter guy tells me that it's been only 2 days and relax...until I point out that part was ordered on JANUARY 8. Arrgh.

BTW, reached 22,000 miles exactly this morning on the way to work. 09/30/06 in-service date, 4.2 S-line, etc., etc.

Hope the part comes soon. You probably get used to having the side assist so actually more likely to forget its broken and pull out.
