Default you had to have spilled something, especially coke, had same thing happen on my A4 before

then just used a moist sponge with water to get in between the buttons and it went away. I had to do it a lot.

Default Maybe somebody else spilled, cleaned up and said nothing.

There have been a couple of MMI controllers damaged this way over the last three years on Qs.
