I'm getting more serious about getting an '07 Q7 rather than waiting for the '08s. I haven't started negotiating with the local dealer yet, but based on my history with them, I'm afraid they aren't going to want to budge off of sticker. I've read on here people generally aren't paying sticker, but just wondering if anyone anywhere has had a dealer only quote sticker. Not that it may matter to them what other dealers do, but they just won't get the sale. Any info appreciated...

but I would think they will be willing to deal once the 08's start rolling in.
if you can work a deal on an 08 then I would take that!

I just bought my '07 Q7 3.6 Premium this weekend. Bought it for dealer invoice. Sticker as $58,300, and I paid $53,737. You need to push harder - they're making deals on these.

We wanted to take advantage of the lease offer for a 3.6 Premium (this offer uses approx 1.4% APR). Unfortunately, IL is one of only two states (TX being the other) that charges sales tax on the full purchase price of the vehicle when leased, rather than just the monthly payment. All things being equal, this makes leasing less attractive here in IL than in other states, like WI. Fortunately, we own a condo in WI as well, which enables us to register vehicles up there (I am getting to the point). We really didn't want much more than a 3.6 Prem with sunroof and tow pkg, which put the MSRP around $50K. The WI dealer didn't have any like this. However, they did have a black/black 3.6 Prem with sunroof, tow, 4 zone, infotainment, 6 seat lux pkg, side assist, and 19" wheels, listing for $57K+. The catch was that it was a demo with 200 miles on it. They took a little over $3K off the price, using a value of $54K in the lease deal. This combined with the previously mentioned tax advantage gave us a $57K MSRP Q7 for the exact same cost, downpayment and monthly payment, as a $50K MSRP leased in IL. We're happy with it.
