Default Anyone tried Costco or Edmunds buying service?

I'm about to order a Q7 3.6 premium with couple of options (after seeing that Detroit didn't have anything interesting in that category).

Anyone have experience with Costco buying service to get a good price (instantly)?

Or Edmunds / autos.msn.com? I wonder if Costco is the way to go over car sites or if it's really all of the same...

Default I went with Costco once

itwas during the end of a model year so I actually was able to get a better deal through the dealer. Sometimes the dealer is not supplied with current Costco discount prices. Such was the case when I purchase my A3 since it was a new model comming to the US.

Default Requested quote Costco and autos.msn.com

Thanks. I just used Costco.com and autos.msn.com for 2 different dealers (I also live in the Seattle area).

Will give an update how it goes.
So far it seems quotes are only given by appointment. One dealer first wanted to see if there's a match on the lot.

Probably you would get a better price if you take one from the lot instead of ordering.

I'll drop by Saturday and see what they offer.

Default I tried Edmunds at one point when I wasn't making any traction with my local dealer.

Received a very tepid response from the dealers who actually bothered to respond. I understand them not willing to invest much time in 'random' internet inquiries, however.

Default If you are checking out Barrier Motors the Costco guy

is Michael Sylvan or Christian Paddock. I don't recommend Larson Automotive and university Audi is not a Costco Dealer.

Default Costco referred me to Stan at Barrier Motors...

I'm in contact with Stan (not sure if these 2 other guys are still at Barriers).
He's now trying to locate a car with my specs and I'll probably drop by Saturday.

I always buy but since there are quite some quality issues reported and I've never owned an Audi, I'll see if I can get a good lease deal for 24 months. I saw on the edmunds forum this quote Q7 3.6premium: .00038 and 64% and 500 over invoice. Seems like a good deal if I could get that.

I'm also checking with University Audi just in case because of the less than great experience some members reported with Barriers.

Thanks!

Default Not really impressed...

After 3 hours (and a 15min test drive) he offered 3% off (3.6p+info+tech+pano).
Lease MF 0.00138 and 64% residual for 24m.

I'd expected a better 'Costco' buying experience...

Default I have never had any major issues with any of my Audis....

As far as minor things, rattles and squeaks, I brought them to the attention of the dealer and was fixed immediately.

I have purchased cars from both dealership. I left University due to reasons other than customer service or satisfaction.

Both dealers are pretty comparable as far as pricing and how low they are willing to go. Depending on where you live I would go with the closer one to your house.

Default What is a reasonable deal?

I was thinking that almost 3K above invoice is a bad deal. I also seen quoted MF around .00038...

My neighbor claims he got a 4.2 Premium close to invoice (but not sure about his trade-in) but that was at Seattle University.

The long wait at the dealership though was completely unacceptable...
