arrgh, iPod takes forever to initialize and radio sound cut off again,,,
Seems like it usually happens on a cold and wet day
(I am in the SF Bay Area) and have the heat seater
on.

or reset ipod and mmi
you reset iPOd by holding down menu key, and center button until the Apple logo comes on.
you reset MMI by holding down the cursor, setup, and the top right arrow button all together. This will reboot the MMI.

have the dealer check the ipod cable. Mine had a intermittant connector. Also, be sure you are NOT leaving the iPOD in the car. If it gets hot or cold, it will become intermittant or suffer damage. Temps in cars can be extreme.

I just bought a 2008 Q7 4.2 with an ipod adapter 2 weeks ago. Both ipods (touch 1.0 and an old ipod mini) worked fine. The other day the touch just randomly stopped working and I haven't been able to connect it since. I tried rebooting the MMI, I tried rebooting the ipod, nothing is working.
The bluetooth rarely works with my phone too.
So far I am not pleased with Audi's technology.

Make sure you have the latest firmware/ software...
If these are ok, then go with a wipe and restore, its def your iPod, especially if its a little older.
