Default Road and Track: Porsche Cayenne HYBRID

In the Oct. '07 issue, R&T talks of it: "This most un-Porsche-like of Porsches teams a 3.6-liter 290-hp V-6 with a 34-kW electric motor that generate 210 lb.-ft. of torque, delivered to all four wheels via a 6-speed automatic." It goes on to say how this "parallel hybrid" can be driven 1. electric only, 2. electric and gas, or 3. gas only. They are saying it'll be at least 2 years before release with "4000-6000 units per year most destined for the US" for the Porsche...a 3.6 VR6 with 476 lb-ft of torque!! That'll give the diesel a run for it's money.
