Audi Side Assist Fault
My side assist crapped out. I used to get an error that said the sensors might be dirty but it would usually start working on its own. Now it won't work at all and it says there is a fault.
Also, my wife said yesterday that it would not shift out of first gear and another error message came up but she forgets what it said. It started workign on its own. I would assume this is a separate issue.
Does anyone know where the side assist sensors are located and how to clean them?
Thanks

The side assist sensors are mounted on the inside of the rear bumper cover
Unless your bumper is encrusted with mud, there's nothing really to clean. If you really want to take off the bumper, I posted a step-by-step here:

Note that Audi recommends that you have the Side Assist system recalibrated whenever the cover is removed. I have yet to bring mine back in to the dealer for this, but everything appears to be working normally.
