Default Average MPG Readout Issue?

The average MPG readout in my 2011 Q7 appears to be inaccurate? It jumps around from 10-30 MPG, when it should stay fairly constant.

For instance, when I start the vehicle and drive on city streets, it will stay around 13-15, then jump to 20+ when I hit the interstate. Today, after I refueled, it jumped to 33 MPG on my way home.

I have had many vehicles that give average MPG, and not one acted like this. For example, my 2008 Corvette now reads 21.8 MPG (mix highway/city), and it will only vary from that 1-2 MPG unless I take a trip on the interstate.

There are 2 trip computers. One should reset every time you start the car, and the second one is the long term one. At least that's how it is on my 2007.

Thanks. Mine is on Trip 1. I'll check Trip 2 on my way to work tomorrow and see what it does.

Got any pics of your C6 and Q7 together? I am on CF too.

I think the Q7 S-Line is the closest thing to a Corvette with 7 seats!

Nice Vette. Great color!

No photos of my new Q7 and Vette together. Posted several photos of the Q7 on this forum already. Here's the Vette:
