My Q needs new shoes soon. I found the Dunlops are little too noisy. Does anyone here have good experience with the Michelin's? Does anyone here run 305's instead of 295's?
Thanks,
Alex

Here's my notes from my last Tyre research exercise in Dec 2012:
Highly regarded:
* Toyo Proxes STII
* Michelin Latitude Sports
* Khumo KL17 <- I bought these. Best bang for buck.
Poorly regarded:
* Goodyear Eagle F1
* Cooper Zeon XST
* Cooper HT Plus
All tyres should be 110/XL load rated, H Speed rated.
Tyre pressure: 45psi
(apologies to the original author, I can't recall where this was quoted from)
Anything in the 30s is too low for a Q7. The 44/49 is actually correct though many of us run our cars at lower pressure as a personal preference.
Over the years and many discussions where shoulder wear has been an issue I have noted through spreadsheet (updates) that most people who ran at lower pressures increased pressure for next set.
44/49 sounds high to car users but anyone used to vehicles over two tons will be used to using these pressures.
Basically it is not an error. Run in the 30s you will get shoulder wear and drifty cornering anything in the 40s will be a significant benefit in both wear and performance. It is even more important on the 21" rims.
