Default Blackberry 8800 - anyone get it to work?

Sorry if this has been discussed, I did a search on this topic, and found some limited chatter... but nothing conclusive.

Anyone get the Blackberry 8800 to work with the 2007 Audi Q7 Bluetooth system?

I can pair the units, but the phone doesn't work.

Makes no sense... it works fine with my iPhone (my wife has the 8800). How can this thing support an iPhone and not a Blackberry... Doesn't RIM sell 1,000,000,000,000,000 blackerry's a day??

Thanks in advance.

Default define "doesn't work"

my BB8700 connects, makes calls, I can see the phonebook but doesn't allow me to see missed calls, dialed calls, etc. On the other hand, my iPhone will connect and show all functions. Long story short, it is dependent on the phone and the BB isn't the best when it comes to this.

Thanks for responding. Doesn't work (in this case) means:

1) I cannot dial out. The Audi tells me a phone is not connected (even though the BB8800 shows paired.)

2) As such, none of the additional functionality works (including phone book, missed calls, etc) Its like the phone is not paired at all.

Thanks again for your help. Looks like the 8700 would work?? I hate to have my wife trade in for it, but it is important to her to make this sing.

Have you told the BB to connect to the Q7 without asking?

Update: I went and pulled out an old Blackberry 8700 (the phone I used to use before I purchased the iPhone) and it paired and worked.

I guess my wife has to go buy an 8700 for my wife? Unless you have any other suggestions....

Thanks man,
Matt

My 8830 works great. Delete from the 88*0 and make sure your phone is "discoverable"

Default Oh, and make sure you're trying to pair it within 5 minutes of turning the car on (the first time)

I don't remember where I read/saw that, but my old 7250 wouldn't pair until I shut the car and MMI down, then paired it immediately.

Default When you pair it, go into the device in the bluetooth menu under options

and tell it to connect without asking. Worth a shot. You could also update the BB firmware, who is your carrier?

Default IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!! You guys rock!

Thanks for your help. Here is how I got it to work:

1) I paired the 8700 (older unit) first.

2) Taking the advice of those in the forum, I ensured the 8800 had the latest firmware.

3) I deleted the profile from when I attempted to pair it earlier, but made it discoverable.

4) I got in the car... and told the unit to "accept connection."

5) It worked.

Looks like dial out, dial in functionality works... no address book but we have a way around that (we will use my iPhone to load the address book.)

Thanks! My wife is very happy.
