2008 Q7, 7 months old with 8K miles...the brake noise is driving me crazy...slowing to a stop in city traffic the brakes squeal like an old beater, not a finely tuned German Automobile...Dealer claims its going to happen and there's nothing you can do...Is there something that can be done?

My '07 Q7 4.2 has the problem also. Dealer told me that there was a light glaze on pads causing the noise. Recommended putting car in reverse and applying brakes hard after moving to burn it off.???? I guess I will try it.

I have also heard that several hard stops from 60 miles per hour or so will help
