Default Brake Pads

I need to order some replacement pads for the 3.6 Q7. Can anyone help with which brands may be the best.

Also, was thinking of changing the rotors to cross drilled or slotted. Has anyone done that and was there a major difference?

Thanks

What miles did you change to them Kinglion? Have you had them long?Do you think there was an improvement in Dust? Noise? Vibration? Performance?

Oh BTW welcome to the forum.

Default another question re: pads

how are they in value compared to OEM. I've been surprised how much less aftermarket pads can cost than OEM at times.

I just went with the Hawk LTS - so far so good, but only in the first week, and havent given the rims a good cleaning since installing the pads, to tell how brake dust is compared to the factory pads. In my mind the reason for going aftermarket is not one of cost, but trying to reduce brake dust, and squeaking.

How's the braking? Is it noticably different from OEM? The Hawk Ceramic is supposed to have very low dust but I've heard that the initial bite is not as good as OEM. Has anyone tried to use any of the OEM Cayenne pads? I believe the caliper is the same.

I have Hawk ceramics on my wifes Q7...braking is a tad better than stock, zero issues with intial bite ...Oh and the absolute best reason to get them...no more black front wheels.

The braking is not noticably different.. I would point out that I went for the Hawk LTS, not the ceramics - which may be a better match for a heavy SUV, than the ceramics. I think brake dust is still supposed to be reduced from OEM even with LTS pads.
