Are you securing the Marathon via LATCH at all? It looks like the seatbelt is being threaded through the Marathon from the pics.

Yes, I removed my base for my britax as well. I have one forward facing with no base, and one rearfacing with base. I'm about to turn my youngest around in 2 months so i'll be doing the same.
