Carbon Build Up Solutions?
#11
Hi,
This problem is being tackled head on here in the UK by the likes of www.mrctuning.com, www.unit20.co.uk where they are taking the inlet manifold off and cleaning the ports, valves etc.
To be fair this is usually on the RS4 B7models and this makes a huge difference.
Have a search on the world wide and look for the Audi forums over here.
Cheers

Thanks for all the help on this forum. I got my '08 Q7 back yesterday from the dealer after the full carbon valve off cleaning / scrape full monty. Total cleaning came to $945 + tax = $994.00. This included 8hrs labor and $200 of parts. The service agent highly recommended the Audi fuel additive every 4-5K miles. Not sure what that is but I'll investigate.
This morning the Q7 took off like a rocket as the carbon buildup was definitely affecting performace and causing a studder for the first mile when the engine was cold.
I also took the advice on the forum and got a quote from an indy shop for front brakes & rotor replacement for $260 labor, I order the parts myself. They have 2 certified audi techs on staff. Looks like the forum consensus is Hawk ceramic pads, OEM rotors.
I'm a whole lot happier with the final bill than I was when the car went into the shop a week and a half ago and have once again gained the smile on my face everytime I start the engine. Thanks.
