CEL flashing
Well yesterday my wife called me on her way home from work and stated that the CEL was flashing in our '07 3.6P and it was shaking and running real rough with loss of power. I told her that she shouldn't drive it, but being in heavy stop and go traffic she had no where to go therefore she was able to limp it home and stated that while on the throttle the light stayed steady, sounds like multiple misfires to me, but could it be from the 90 degree(F) combined with very humid conditions and a very heat soaked motor?? I went out this morning to get the Roadside number and said what the hey I'll give it a try, well the light stayed on steady now so I was able to limp it to the dealership service dept., saw my regular service tech and was on my way.
Fast forward to this afternoon when I get a call from said tech stating that the Q would be all set in roughly 10-15minutes, great nothing serious, until about 10-15minutes later and the phone rings and its Audi again saying to disregard the previous call and that while out road testing the CEL started flashing and motor was running rough again, stated that they had already swapped out one coil pack and a spark plug(why only one plug is beyond me) so needless to say the Q shall remain on an overnighter. Just curious as to any others who may have experienced the same and what the outcome was, basically for my own knowledge.--Thanks.

May I ask what's the mileage on yr Q7 now? Mine is 30,000 miles now and I haven't experienced incident like yours. And the temperature here in Houston has been over 100F and humidity over 100%!

Well got it back today. They had to replace 2 coil packs and 2 spark plugs due to multiple misfires on Bank 5 & 6. Now I'm no certified audi tech, but why would you only replace 2 of the 6 spark plugs?? I mean really? is it too much to replace all 6. So my question that remained unanswered was since the Q has 34,600 miles and 2 coils and 2 plugs have failed what happens when the others go and I'm out of warranty?? I surely know the answer is going to be the customer pays...frustrating.

Thanks for the update. At 33500 miles per year, you will probably iron out any other coil pack issues before warranty runs out.
Why not put your thanks and concerns in writing to them at this point, then if it happens again you can refer to your letter and hold them accountable.
