Default Clicking noise at start-up?

For a couple seconds, if the stereo is off, I can hear a clicking noise coming from the dash somewhere.

What's wrong with it?

Looks like one more thing for my dealer to check out, on top of the hatch recall, rattling from the back.

Default BTW is this your car or your dads?

It kind of looks like you have two.
Is it the same Quartz Gray one you had back in July on the Subaru forum?

Default 2nd... Nothing wrong with it.

All of my previous audis have done it to one degree or another. I'm not certain why people perceive any noise a car makes as being a defect? If you want all of these little gadgets to do everything for you then you have to deal with some noise from moving parts.

Default It is more noticeable on the Q7 and the bulletin to replace the motors does help

of course if you listen you'll still hear the new motors click, bt as mentioned you can hear the motors on any Audi click if you listen closely.

Default I have the same clicking sound; after a while you just don't notice it anymore. Sound kind of fades

into the background with the other noises. i.e. kids in back seat!

Default Re: BTW is this your car or your dads?

not my car, it's my dads. I just drive it sometimes.
It's silver, not grey. Which Subaru forum? I didn't join Subaru OUtback.org until July, and got the Q7 early September. Then around a week after the Q7 came, the Subaru got traded in for something else.

Default Live with it until they fail ... if they ever do. But ....

With the vent system on auto all the time, you may not notice when one of the motors finally fails unless you manually set it to those vents.

The Q is my wife's car, she didn't like the clicking so mentioned it to service. They instantly went and replaced all of them, which later has turned into a nightmare.

The replacements clicked also, but then quickly failed entirely and in the middle of summer we didn't have any air coming from the front middle vents.

Another dash tear down for replacement again; we're still chasing buzzing rattles out of the dash. And probably will for as long as we own the car now.

If you can live with clicking and they don't die, live with it.
